Effective July 1, 2024, significant changes to the legislation regarding Ukrainian citizens will take effect in Poland. President Andrzej Duda signed the amendments, which include over a dozen measures aimed at improving living conditions for foreigners. The main changes include:
– The ability to apply for a Stay Card for family members with UKR status for the purposes of reunification.
– The extension of the legal stay period until September 30, 2025, enabling Ukrainian citizens to continue to receive medical services and family and social benefits.
– Childcare benefits for Ukrainian citizens, as well as participation in the “Good Start” program, provided that they are studying at Polish educational institutions.
– A maximum period of 36 months has been set for free Polish language classes.
A decision on a residence permit (from Polish, decyzja) is a ruling made by a Voivode in response to a foreigner’s request for a residence permit. The decision can be positive or negative and is provided for any type of card.

From 09.07, a Simplified procedure for applying for a residence card for Belarusian citizens has come into effect.
Belarusian citizens can apply for “groundless” residence cards if you are on the territory of Poland on the basis of a national visa with the marking “D21” for issuance for humanitarian reasons.
