About this service

Some residence applications require evidence of health insurance or confirmation that an insurer covers treatment costs in Poland.

For example, the official family reunification checklist asks for this evidence.

Entry on a national visa has its own medical insurance requirements, so the requirements must be checked for the relevant route.

Who it may suit

  • People preparing a residence or visa application who need help understanding the insurance documents.
  • People who have received an office request about insurance evidence.

How we help

  • Review the insurance requirement in the official guidance for your application.
  • Help you organise evidence of existing cover and identify questions for the provider before you choose insurance.
  • Help you prepare the insurance documents requested for your application.

Your next steps

  1. Identify the application

Tell us which application you are preparing and show us any request from the office.

  2. Review existing evidence

We help you compare your insurance documents with the published application requirements.

  3. Prepare questions and documents

We help you list points to clarify with the provider and organise the evidence for your application.

Good to know

  • The family reunification checklist allows evidence of health insurance under Polish public healthcare rules or confirmation of treatment costs covered by an insurer in Poland.
  • The national visa entry rules specify both the scope of medical cover and how treatment costs must be paid.

Questions about this service

01When can I apply for EU long-term resident status in Poland, and what documents do I need?

You can usually apply after at least five years of qualifying, legal and continuous residence, if you also meet the income, health-insurance and Polish-language requirements. Not every period counts: time under temporary protection is excluded, while residence on a CUKR permit can count. Your documents normally include passport scans, a photo, residence-history and income evidence, insurance, accepted language evidence and proof of your right to occupy your home. We can check your qualifying dates and document list at a consultation.

02Can I bring my spouse or children to Poland through family reunification?

You may be able to bring your spouse or minor children through family reunification if your residence status and family relationship meet the requirements. The application normally needs evidence of the family relationship and your qualifying residence status, plus income, health insurance and accommodation; exceptions can apply. The route also depends on whether your family is already in Poland or applying from abroad. We can check the appropriate route and documents at a consultation.
